The Mail on Sunday's sports writing and reporting is of the highest quality. Our chief sports writer, Patrick Collins, is a five-times winner of the British Sports Journalism Association's Sports Writer of the Year award, hailed as 'the best sports writer of his generation...he never once talks down to the reader, preferring the gentle nudge and polite smile as he informs and entertains'.

Noted for his 'superb catalogue of outstanding stories', Rob Draper is a former Sports Reporter of the Year trophy holder and in conjunction with Daniel King, won the accolade for Sports Story of the Year: 'Olympic Kow Tow' a Mail on Sunday front page story, defined as a 'coup for forensic attention to detail', and  'genuine, high-class investigative journalism'. The story forced the British Olympic Association to change the wording of athletes' contracts after it was revealed that British participants in the Beijing Olympics were to be handed contracts banning them from criticising the Chinese regime.

Staff photographer, Mark Pain, was voted Sports Photographer of the Year at the 2011 Press Awards. In-house cartoonist Steve O'Brien is a regular nominee for the sports cartoonist prizes and sports writer, Ian Stafford, is regularly commended as one of the best  interviewers in the business.

Our latest signing is Nick Harris, editor in chief of the Sporting Intelligence website. An investigative reporter who has previously worked for the Sunday Times and The Independent, he is also the author of critically acclaimed books about the history and business of sport, including 'England, Their England', the definitive story of how foreign players, managers and owners changed English football. Nick was voted Internet Writer of the Year at this year's Sports Journalists' Association awards.

Football legend Kenny Dalglish, who has plenty of insight and opinion to offer about the state of the beautiful game and its participants writes a column every week and former England captain Ray Wilkins talks tactics in The Technical Area.
